AMC is monitoring energy development proposals across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions to assess impacts on conservation lands, areas of significant recreational value, and other ecologically significant areas. Among the 23 projects shown here on our map are proposed pipelines, wind farms, and power lines that would impact the Appalachian Trail, fragment National Forests, and further develop critical areas.
If permitted, some of these projects have the potential to generate or transport energy that is more environmentally-friendly than others. But no source of energy is environmentally benign, and some projects have the potential to significantly impact natural or recreational resources. To stay up to date and learn more as many of these projects progress, join AMC’s Conservation Action Network with the link to the right.
